Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) at Alder Bridge School

At Alder Bridge School we provide a caring, positive and supportive learning environment for all children. School staff know their pupils well and understand their individual needs; they cater for these accordingly. All children within the school have access to high quality teaching from both their Kindergarten/Class Teacher and Subject Teachers. To complement this in the Lower School, we provide small group sessions and one to one interventions, led by qualified and trained Teaching Assistants (these are allocated according to severity of need and there may be a waiting list at times). We also provide whole class Teaching Assistant support during Main Lesson and subject lessons for some of our classes. Our Higher Level Teaching Assistant teaches small group phonics/spelling sessions in the Lower School. In Kindergarten, the Teacher and Assistant work together to provide support where needed. Our SEND policy can be found here.
