Sunbeams Family Group

A natural and supportive 'home-from-home' for babies and toddlers with their parents or carers.

Visit one of our groups and you will find a warm welcome and a gentle rhythm that guides throughout the session.

Our Parent and Child groups provide a peaceful setting for creative play with simple toys made from natural materials. Take part in craft activities that reflect the seasons and cultural festivals, sharing the joys and challenges of parenting, while your child enjoys playing alongside others with the reassurance of knowing that you are close by.

There is a time to share food - an organic snack of fruit, vegetables, rice cakes, water and herbal tea - followed by songs which reflect the seasons, with a rhythm reassuring to the young child. The morning draws to a close with time working and playing in our garden, finishing with our Goodbye Song - both an affirmation of our time together and a reminder that we will meet again soon.

Our groups are small and friendly – nourishing for child and adult – understanding the needs of childhood.

Sunbeams Play Groups

For parents with babies from birth to toddling

This is a chance to appreciate in-depth our babies' innate abilities – learning to recognise the language of a very young baby, and understanding each individual child's own path of development. Great satisfaction and joy is gained from following, through quiet observation, the little ones’ journeys onto two feet. Simple toys are provided.

This is a safe space for parents to share their experiences and to discuss any issues that arise. Within this group there is no emphasis on competition or achievement. There is also time for a cup of tea whilst remembering traditional nursery rhymes and seasonal songs to share with your children. Spaces are limited to eight families.
